About DialyTran

DialyTran (previously known as the Royal Victoria Kidney Fund) is a volunteer organization that started in 1983. Over the years DialyTran has ensured that patients living with end-stage kidney disease receive the best care possible either by purchasing equipment or providing support services.

Today, DialyTran is composed of 9 volunteer board members and employs two certified therapeutic recreational specialists, and one therapeutic recreation specialist who is part of the nephrology multidisciplinary team and coordinates the Wellness Program in the hemodialysis units at the MGH, Lachine, and Glen sites.

DialyTran is a fund under the MUHC Foundation that is dedicated to provide a Wellness Program for patients living with end-stage kidney disease. Please specify that the donation is for DialyTran. Donations of $15 or more automatically receive a tax receipt.

Our Goals:

  • To provide Therapeutic Recreation services at the MUHC hemodialysis;
  • To provide support services in and out of the hospital;
  • To solicit the advice from the nephrology team and suggestions from patients to determine the important needs of the patients and to improve the quality of their care.
